Vaccine Target Antigens
Vaccine target antigens are specific parts of a pathogen, such as a virus or bacteria, that the immune system recognizes and responds to. These antigens are usually proteins or molecules on the surface of the pathogen. When a vaccine contains these antigens, it trains the immune system to identify and fight the actual pathogen if encountered later. This prepares the immune system to respond quickly and effectively, preventing illness. Think of the antigen as a unique "badge" that helps the immune system recognize and remember the invader for future protection.
