VAC therapy (Vacuum-Assisted Closure therapy)

VAC therapy, or Vacuum-Assisted Closure therapy, is a medical treatment that helps wounds heal faster. A special foam dressing is placed over the wound and sealed with a transparent film. A gentle vacuum pump then removes excess fluids and blood, which reduces swelling and increases blood flow to the area. This controlled negative pressure encourages new tissue growth, keeps the wound clean, and prevents infection. VAC therapy is often used for complex or slow-healing wounds, such as those caused by surgery, trauma, or burns. It effectively supports the body's natural healing process by creating an optimal environment for tissue repair.
