V-fib
Ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) is a serious heart rhythm disorder where the lower chambers of the heart (ventricles) quiver uncontrollably instead of beating effectively. This chaotic activity prevents the heart from pumping blood properly, leading to rapid loss of consciousness and, if not treated promptly, sudden death. V-fib often occurs suddenly, usually during a heart attack or heart disease. Immediate treatment with defibrillation—delivering an electric shock—can restore a normal rhythm and save lives. Prompt medical attention is critical to prevent irreversible damage or death.
