UVA (Ultraviolet A)
UVA, or ultraviolet A rays, are a type of sunlight with longer wavelengths that reach the Earth's surface. They penetrate deep into the skin and are primarily responsible for skin aging, such as wrinkles and age spots. UVA rays also contribute to skin cancer risk over time. Unlike UVB rays, which cause sunburn, UVA rays are less intense but more abundant and can pass through windows and clouds, making sun protection important even indoors or on cloudy days. Using broad-spectrum sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and seeking shade can help reduce UVA exposure.
