Uterine sarcoma
Uterine sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that develops from the muscle or connective tissue of the uterus, which is the organ where a baby develops during pregnancy. Unlike the more common uterine cancer that starts in the lining, sarcomas begin in the muscle layer or support tissues. Symptoms may include abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, or a mass in the pelvis. Because it's rare and symptoms can be similar to benign conditions, early diagnosis often involves imaging and biopsy. Treatment usually requires surgery, and may include radiation or chemotherapy, depending on the cancer’s stage and type.
