Ustekinumab
Ustekinumab is a medication used to treat certain chronic inflammatory conditions, such as psoriasis and Crohn’s disease. It works by targeting specific proteins called interleukins (IL-12 and IL-23) that play a role in the immune system’s inflammatory response. By blocking these proteins, ustekinumab helps reduce inflammation and symptoms associated with these conditions. It is administered via injections, typically given every few months, and is often prescribed when other treatments haven't been effective. Ustekinumab can improve quality of life by controlling inflammation and managing symptoms more effectively.
