USS Utah

USS Utah (AG-16) was a United States Navy battleship converted into a target and training vessel. Originally built as a battleship, it served in World War I and II. During the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Utah was hit by Japanese torpedoes, causing it to tilt and sink rapidly, resulting in significant loss of life. Unlike many ships that were repaired, Utah was deemed too badly damaged and was left where it sank, serving as a memorial. Today, it remains at Pearl Harbor’s bottom, acting as a reminder of the attack and a site for historical study.
