USS United States
USS United States (CVA-58) was a planned American aircraft carrier built in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Designed to be a large, fast carrier with advanced features, it aimed to support naval air power during the Cold War. However, due to budget constraints, changing military priorities, and technical issues, the project was canceled in 1954 before completion. Its cancellation marked a significant shift in U.S. naval planning, and no ship of this class ever entered service. The USS United States remains a notable example of post-World War II naval design ambitions that were ultimately unrealized.
