USS Donaghey

USS Donaghey (DE-354) was a U.S. Navy destroyer escort used during World War II. Its main role was to protect larger ships, like aircraft carriers and supply vessels, from enemy submarines and aircraft in the Atlantic Ocean. Equipped with sonar and depth charges, it detected and attacked underwater threats. The USS Donaghey was also involved in escorting convoys across dangerous waters, helping ensure that troops and supplies reached their destinations safely. After the war, it was decommissioned and eventually scrapped. The ship's service contributed to the Allied war effort by safeguarding maritime convoys.
