Ushahidi platform

Ushahidi is an open-source software platform that allows people to share and visualize information during crises, conflicts, or emergencies. It enables users to submit reports—such as incidents, safety concerns, or resource needs—via various channels like mobile apps, SMS, or web forms. These reports are then mapped and analyzed in real-time, helping organizations, journalists, and communities respond more effectively. Originally developed to monitor election violence in Kenya, Ushahidi has since been used worldwide for disaster response, human rights advocacy, and social activism, bridging communication gaps and fostering collective awareness.
