User Fees

User fees are charges that individuals pay for specific services or access provided by government agencies or organizations. These fees help cover the costs of maintaining and delivering those services, such as park entrance fees, licensing fees, or tolls. They are different from taxes, which are collected broadly to fund public goods. User fees ensure that those who directly benefit from a service contribute to its expense, creating a fair system for funding public resources or services that are not entirely free at the point of use.
