User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is a communication protocol used on the internet that allows data to be sent quickly between devices without establishing a connection. Unlike its counterpart, TCP, which ensures that messages arrive in order and error-free, UDP sends packets of data without checking if they reach their destination or in what order they arrive. This makes UDP faster and more efficient for applications like video streaming, online gaming, and voice calls, where speed is crucial and occasional data loss is acceptable. However, it lacks the reliability and error correction features found in TCP.
