USA-Taliban Peace Deal

The USA-Taliban Peace Deal, signed in February 2020, is an agreement aimed at ending the long conflict in Afghanistan. The U.S. agreed to withdraw most of its troops if the Taliban commits to preventing terrorist activities and engages in peace negotiations with the Afghan government. In return, the Taliban promised not to harbor terrorists and to reduce violence. The deal was intended to promote peace and stability, but challenges remained, including ongoing violence and questions about the Afghan government's role in future peace efforts.
