US Treasury

The U.S. Treasury is the government department responsible for managing the country’s finances. It issues securities called Treasury bonds, notes, and bills to borrow money to fund government operations and programs. Investors buy these securities as a safe investment, because they are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. The Treasury also handles tax collection, manages the nation's debt, and produces currency. Essentially, it helps keep the U.S. economy stable by managing revenue, debt, and financial policy.
