Ursus arctos (brown bear)

Ursus arctos, commonly known as the brown bear, is a large mammal found in North America, Europe, and parts of Asia. It has a robust build, thick fur that varies in color from light brown to almost black, and a distinctive shoulder hump made of muscle. Brown bears are omnivorous, eating a diet that includes plants, berries, insects, and fish, especially salmon. They are solitary animals, except during mating season or when mothers are raising cubs. Brown bears play a key role in their ecosystems by helping control populations and dispersing seeds. They are highly adaptable but face threats from habitat loss and human conflicts.
