Ursodiol

Ursodiol, also known as ursodeoxycholic acid, is a medication that helps improve the flow of bile—a fluid produced by the liver that aids in digesting fats. It’s commonly used to dissolve certain types of gallstones and to treat liver diseases like primary biliary cholangitis. Ursodiol works by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver and decreasing the amount of cholesterol in bile, making it less likely to form stones. It is generally well-tolerated and prescribed under medical supervision for specific liver and gallbladder conditions.
