Urquiza's Reforms

Urquiza's Reforms, led by Governor Juan Manuel de Rosas and later by Justo José de Urquiza, aimed to modernize Argentina through centralization of power, economic liberalization, and educational improvements. They promoted infrastructure development, such as railways, to enhance trade and communication. These reforms sought to stabilize the country after regional conflicts, strengthen national unity, and attract investment. While successful in fostering economic growth and modernization, they also increased the authority of central government, sometimes at the expense of regional autonomies. Overall, Urquiza's Reforms marked a significant step toward Argentina's development as a unified nation-state.
