Ureteral Stenting

Ureteral stenting is a medical procedure used to insert a thin tube, called a stent, into a ureter—the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder. This helps to keep the ureter open if it’s blocked due to kidney stones, tumors, or inflammation. The stent allows urine to flow freely from the kidney to the bladder, relieving pain and preventing infection. Stents are usually made of flexible material and can remain in place for a period of time, after which they may need to be removed or replaced. It's a common intervention to manage urinary issues effectively.
