UPR, or Universal Periodic Review, is a process where the United Nations examines each country's human rights practices every few years. It allows countries to share their progress, challenges, and commitments regarding human rights, while other nations provide feedback, suggestions, or praise. The goal is to encourage continuous improvement and accountability globally. Think of it as a regular check-up for a country’s human rights health—promoting transparency, dialogue, and shared responsibility among nations.
