UPnP

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is a technology that allows devices on a home network—such as computers, gaming consoles, printers, and smart devices—to automatically discover each other and share resources or services. It simplifies setup by enabling devices to communicate and configure network ports without manual intervention. For example, a gaming console can automatically open necessary ports to connect online, or a printer can be accessed by multiple computers seamlessly. UPnP enhances ease of use and convenience, but it can pose security risks if not managed properly, as it allows devices to make network changes autonomously.
