unlock and ride

In transportation, "unlock" refers to the process of activating a vehicle or device so it can be used, such as opening a bike locker or starting a shared scooter. "Ride" describes the period when the vehicle is in use, from the moment you begin moving until you finish and end the session. Essentially, unlocking grants access, allowing the user to operate the vehicle, while riding is the actual act of traveling with it. Both terms are common in shared mobility services, emphasizing access and use of the transportation asset.
