University of Wisconsin Organ Procurement Organization

The University of Wisconsin Organ Procurement Organization (UW OPO) is a nonprofit entity responsible for coordinating the donation of organs from deceased donors to patients in need of transplants. They work closely with hospitals, families, and transplant centers to identify potential donors, obtain consent, and ensure organs are preserved and allocated fairly and efficiently. Their mission is to save and improve lives by increasing organ donations and ensuring that donated organs go to the patients who need them most.
