Universitas Paris

Universitas Paris, historically known as the University of Paris, was a major medieval institution founded in the 12th century in France. It became one of the world's first major centers of higher education, specializing in areas like theology, law, medicine, and the arts. Over time, it grew into a network of autonomous faculties rather than a single university. In 1970, it was divided into multiple independent universities, such as Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas. Today, these institutions continue the legacy of advanced learning and research in the Paris area.
