Universal Periodic Review (UPR)
The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a process by which the United Nations assesses how well each country upholds human rights. Every four years, countries present reports on their human rights efforts, and other nations provide feedback, suggestions, and praise. This review encourages countries to improve their human rights practices through dialogue and accountability. It is a collaborative effort aimed at promoting better treatment of all people worldwide, enabling countries to identify strengths and address areas needing improvement in ensuring human rights are respected and protected.
