Universal Joint

A universal joint, also known as a U-joint, is a mechanical connection that links two rotating shafts, allowing them to move at different angles. It transmits torque and rotational motion even when the shafts are not perfectly aligned, accommodating angular misalignment. Universal joints are commonly used in vehicle drive shafts, industrial machinery, and other applications where flexibility in shaft positioning is necessary. They work by transferring rotational force through a pair of hinges connected by a cross-shaped component, enabling smooth power transfer despite changes in angle between the shafts.
