United States Weather Bureau

The United States Weather Bureau was the government agency responsible for providing weather forecasts, warnings, and climate information across the U.S. from 1890 until 1970. It was established to gather atmospheric data, monitor weather patterns, and inform the public and authorities about severe weather events. In 1970, it was renamed the National Weather Service and became part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Today, it continues to serve as the main source of weather forecasts and warnings nationwide, helping individuals and industries prepare for and respond to weather conditions.
