United States military branches
The United States military consists of five primary branches: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The Army is responsible for land-based operations. The Navy operates at sea and protects maritime interests. The Air Force handles aerial warfare and defense. The Marine Corps specializes in fast, amphibious assaults and rapid deployment. The Coast Guard focuses on maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, and environmental protection, often peacetime but can be integrated into the Navy during wartime. Together, these branches ensure national security and respond to various threats and emergencies.
