United States judiciary

The United States judiciary is the system of courts responsible for interpreting and applying the law. It includes federal and state courts that resolve disputes, protect rights, and ensure laws are consistent with the Constitution. The Supreme Court is the highest authority, making final decisions on constitutional issues. Below it are appellate courts, which review lower court cases, and trial courts, where cases are first heard with evidence and witnesses. The judiciary functions independently from the legislative and executive branches to provide fair, impartial justice and uphold the rule of law across the country.
