United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP)
The United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) was a UN program dedicated to using sports as a tool to promote peace, social inclusion, and development worldwide. It aimed to leverage sports to foster dialogue, improve health, and build community resilience, especially in conflict-affected or marginalized areas. By encouraging cooperation through sports activities, UNOSDP supported initiatives that helped reduce violence, promote gender equality, and contribute to sustainable development goals. Although it was operational until 2017, its efforts highlighted the power of sports to unite diverse populations and promote positive social change.
