United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC)

The United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) was established after the Gulf War of 1990-1991 to process and resolve claims from individuals, companies, and governments seeking compensation for damages caused by Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. It collected funds from Iraq and distributed payments to those affected, such as property owners and businesses. The UNCC's goal was to provide fair compensation while helping restore stability and trust in the region. It operated as an independent entity, ensuring claims were evaluated transparently and efficiently within the framework of international law.
