UNITAS

UNITAS, short for "United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia," was a peacekeeping mission established by the United Nations in 1992 to help restore peace and stability in Cambodia after years of conflict. Its primary goals were to oversee the ceasefire, disarm factions, and support the organization of free elections. The mission helped facilitate political reconciliation and national reconstruction, working towards ending decades of civil war and violence in Cambodia. It was part of international efforts to promote peace and democracy in the country, ultimately helping Cambodia move toward stability and national unity.
