Unitary urbanism is a design philosophy that promotes integrating different aspects of city life—such as architecture, public spaces, transportation, and social activities—into a cohesive, harmonious environment. Originating from the Situationist International movement, it emphasizes creating cities that foster spontaneous social interactions, creativity, and human well-being by breaking down rigid divisions between built structures and communal spaces. The goal is to develop urban areas that are more livable, dynamic, and responsive to residents’ needs, transforming the city into a unified, interconnected experience rather than a collection of isolated parts.
