Union Party

The Union Party was a political group in the United States during the Civil War era, primarily formed in 1864 by members of the Republican Party and some Democrats who supported the Union war effort. Its main goal was to promote national unity and support Abraham Lincoln's policies to preserve the Union. The party aimed to bring together different political factions to oppose the Confederate states and end the conflict.
