UNIFIL
UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) is a peacekeeping mission established by the UN in 1978 to help maintain stability and security along Lebanon’s southern border. Its primary goals are to confirm the withdrawal of Israeli forces, restore peace between Lebanon and Israel, and support the Lebanese government’s authority and infrastructure. UNIFIL operates with a military presence that monitors ceasefires, assists in de-mining, and promotes political stability, working collaboratively with local authorities and communities to prevent conflict escalation and foster sustainable peace in the region.
