unconscious inference
Unconscious inference is the brain’s automatic process of interpreting sensory information to create a coherent understanding of the environment. Since our senses can be ambiguous or incomplete, the brain uses past experiences and contextual clues without our awareness to fill in gaps and resolve uncertainties. This mental activity helps us perceive a stable, meaningful world despite constantly changing or limited sensory input. Essentially, our perception involves subconscious "guesses" that the brain makes automatically to interpret what we see, hear, and feel accurately.
