UN Palestine Commission
The UN Palestine Commission was established by the United Nations in 1947 to help facilitate the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Jews and Arabs over land in Palestine. Its goal was to recommend measures for government and security to ensure peace and prepare the territory for independence. The commission aimed to address both communities' needs, promote coexistence, and lay the groundwork for establishing independent Arab and Jewish states. Its efforts were part of broader UN initiatives during the post-World War II period, but the commission's work was ultimately overshadowed by subsequent conflicts.
