Uluburun shipwreck

The Uluburun shipwreck is an ancient trading vessel that sank around 1320 BCE off the coast of Turkey’s Uluburun site. It is one of the oldest and most well-preserved shipwrecks ever discovered, providing valuable insights into Bronze Age trade networks. The cargo included hundreds of artifacts such as copper and tin ingots (used for making bronze), jewelry, tools, and raw materials from regions like Egypt, Cyprus, and the Levant. The wreck helps historians understand early maritime commerce, diplomacy, and cultural exchanges across the Mediterranean during that period. Its discovery in 1982 has significantly advanced knowledge of ancient seafaring and trade.
