Ultraviolet Spectrograph

An ultraviolet spectrograph is an instrument that analyzes light in the ultraviolet portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. It helps scientists study the composition, temperature, and physical conditions of objects like stars, planets, and distant galaxies. When light passes through or reflects off an object, the spectrograph breaks it into its component colors (wavelengths). By examining the patterns of absorption and emission lines in these ultraviolet wavelengths, researchers can identify specific atoms and molecules, learning about the object's properties and processes that are not visible with regular cameras or visible light sensors.
