Ultraroyalists
Ultraroyalists were a faction during the French Revolution who strongly supported the full restoration of the monarchy and traditional royal authority. They wanted to undo the revolutionary changes and return France to an absolute monarchy similar to before 1789. This group opposed democratic reforms and revolutionary ideals, often advocating for the power of King Louis XVI and his successors. Their influence was significant during the early stages of the Revolution, but they eventually lost power as revolutionary ideas gained momentum and more radical changes took hold.
