Ultisols
Ultisols are a type of soil found mainly in humid regions with warm climates, such as parts of the southeastern United States, China, and South America. They are characterized by being weathered and acidic, with a low natural fertility due to the leaching of nutrients over time. Despite their limited natural nutrients, they can be used for agriculture with proper management, such as adding fertilizers or lime to adjust acidity. Ultisols play a significant role in supporting ecosystems and agriculture in tropical and subtropical areas.
