UL 94 (flame class testing)
UL 94 is a standard testing method used to measure the flammability of plastic materials used in electrical and electronic devices. It assesses how easily a material catches fire, how quickly it burns, and whether it extinguishes on its own. The test categorizes materials into flame rating classes such as V-0, V-1, V-2, and HB, indicating their relative flame-retardant performance. Higher-rated plastics, like V-0, are less likely to support combustion and are considered safer for use in products or environments where fire safety is critical.
