UK (UK Commission for Employment and Skills)

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) was a non-departmental public body in England that aimed to improve employment opportunities, skills development, and workforce productivity across the UK. It worked with employers, government, and education providers to ensure that skills training matched employers’ needs, helping individuals secure better jobs and supporting economic growth. UKCES conducted research, developed strategies, and funded initiatives to address skills gaps in various sectors. It was dissolved in 2017, with its functions transferred to other government departments, but its work contributed to shaping UK workforce policies.
