UK REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) is the UK’s system for managing chemicals used in products. It requires companies to assess and register the safety of chemicals they produce or import, ensuring they are safe for humans and the environment. The system is similar to the EU’s REACH but operates independently since Brexit. It aims to protect public health and the environment by regulating chemical use, encouraging safer alternatives, and providing transparent information on chemical risks and safety measures.
