UK General Election
The UK General Election determines the composition of the House of Commons, the main legislative body. Citizens aged 18 or older vote for Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent their local area, called constituencies. The political party with the most MPs usually forms the government, and its leader becomes the Prime Minister. Elections are typically held every five years, but can happen sooner if circumstances require. The process involves campaigning, voting, and counting votes to ensure representation reflects public opinion, shaping laws and policies that affect the entire country.
