UK Bribery Act

The UK Bribery Act, enacted in 2010, is a law aimed at preventing corruption in business and public life. It makes it illegal to offer, promise, or give a financial reward (a bribe) to someone to influence their actions, as well as to request or accept bribes. This applies to both private and public sectors, domestically and internationally. The Act also includes provisions against facilitation payments, and businesses are required to implement measures to prevent bribery. Violations can result in severe penalties, including fines and imprisonment, highlighting the UK's commitment to ethical practices.
