UK Bar
The UK Bar refers to the professional body of barristers—specialist lawyers who represent clients in court and provide expert legal advice. Unlike solicitors, barristers typically handle courtroom advocacy and complex legal arguments. To become a barrister, individuals undergo rigorous training, including passing exams and completing a period of practical training called a pupillage. Barristers are often self-employed and work in chambers, offering specialized legal services across various areas of law. The UK Bar is regulated by the Bar Standards Board and is distinct from solicitors, who generally handle legal services outside the courtroom.
