Uesugi clan
The Uesugi clan was a powerful samurai family in Japan during the Sengoku period (15th-16th centuries). Known for their military prowess and strategic skill, especially under leader Uesugi Kenshin, they controlled regions in what is now modern-day Niigata and Nagano. The clan often clashed with rival clans like the Takeda and Oda. Their reputation was built on disciplined armies and a strong sense of honor. Although they eventually declined, the Uesugi played a significant role in Japanese feudal history, symbolizing loyalty, strategic adaptability, and martial excellence.
