Ueli Steck was a renowned Swiss mountaineer known for his extraordinary skill, speed, and innovation in mountain climbing. He specialized in free climbing and solo ascents, often scaling some of the world's most challenging peaks rapidly and with minimal equipment. Steck was praised for his technical mastery and pioneering "speed records" on iconic routes like the North Face of Eiger and the Annapurna massif. His fearless approach and relentless pursuit of climbing progress made him a respected figure in the mountaineering community. Sadly, he passed away in 2017 during an expedition in the Alps.
