The UEFA European Cup Winners' Cup was a European football competition held annually from 1961 to 1999. It was organized by UEFA and featured clubs that had won their national domestic cup competitions, such as the FA Cup or Copa del Rey. Teams competed in knockout rounds, culminating in a final to determine the best cup-winning team across Europe. The tournament was highly prestigious and often showcased some of the continent’s most talented clubs. In 1999, it was discontinued, with its strong teams integrated into the UEFA Cup (now Europa League).
