Udayin was an ancient Indian king of the Mahajanapada of Magadha, ruling around the 4th century BCE. He was known for his administrative skills and efforts to strengthen his kingdom’s power and stability. Udayin expanded Magadha’s territory, improved city defenses, and promoted trade and culture. His leadership helped lay the foundation for Magadha’s future prominence in Indian history. Despite limited historical records, he is often recognized as a significant early ruler who contributed to the growth of one of India’s major ancient civilizations.
